Why 60kg railway rail was updated to 60N express rail?

Chinese TB/T 2344-2012 standard 60kg rail is widely used for Chinese express railway and related oversea express railway project that running speed over 350 km/h, the material has U71Mn (min 880Mpa), U75V (min 980Mpa). Hardness can be R260, 320Cr and 350HT.

After long term using, the technicist found that the both edge of rail head always be abrased after one year, and the wheel hub also be abrased much more too. So they reduce the width of P60 rail head from 73mm to 70.8mm, the radian more near wheel hub, so as to reduce the abrasion.

If you are not used for state express railway, both of rail all be workable, sometime we have 60N rail, sometime we have P60 rail, the length can be 12m, 12.5m, 18m, 24m, 25m and 30m, even more than 100m we can produce it, but transportation is a problem.
